Set an alert for a local clock time. This page runs the Alarm tool; the navigation above opens the other tools on their own pages. If you want an alarm and a countdown active in the same page, use the all-in-one workspace instead of navigating away.
Set and check an alarm
- Choose Hour, Minute and AM/PM. There is no seconds field; the scheduled time uses second zero.
- Add a label that tells you what to do, such as “Join rehearsal.” Labels are optional.
- Choose Alarm 1–5 and press its preview button. Check your volume and stop the preview before continuing.
- Press Set Alarm. Read the time and countdown in the new list entry. If the chosen time is already past, XClock schedules it for tomorrow.
The device’s date and time determine “today.” XClock creates a specific timestamp when you set the alarm; it is not a recurring daily schedule. If you change your device time, travel across time zones or cross a daylight-saving transition, recheck the saved alert and set a new one if necessary. We have not validated every daylight-saving boundary.
More than one reminder
Set Alarm adds an entry; it does not replace the previous one. Use different labels to distinguish reminders at the same time. Remove deletes only that entry. Clear All clears the Alarm list. It does not mean “clear every XClock tool.” Check the list after a refresh before adding another copy of an alert.
When the alert rings
The page shows the label and plays the selected sound. Stop dismisses that ringing alert. The quick 5m, 10m and 15m controls, or a custom number of minutes, postpone it from the time you press the control. They are not a repeating alarm setting. If several alarms are due, dismissing one can reveal the next; do not assume that stopping the first has cleared the rest.
Keep this page available
A scheduled alarm is not a browser notification or a background operating-system service. Closing this page ends its running callbacks. A future saved alarm can be restored when you return, but an expired saved alarm is not replayed as a catch-up alert. Navigating to another dedicated tool does not leave this alarm running there.
A background tab may continue briefly and later be throttled or suspended. A sleeping laptop cannot be relied on to sound on time. The browser alarm reliability guide distinguishes those cases and explains why a short successful test is not an overnight guarantee.
If you see an alert but hear nothing
Try preview on this page with your chosen sound, check device output and tab muting, then check the browser’s site sound permission. Some browsers require user interaction before playback. A moving countdown or a changed preview icon alone does not prove sound reached your speakers. Follow the sound diagnosis before relying on it.
Saved alarms and safe use
Future alarm timestamps, labels and sound choices are stored in this browser. A private window, another device or cleared site storage has a different list. See storage and refresh behavior. Use XClock for everyday prompts while at your device. Use an independent backup for medication, safety, travel departures or any reminder whose failure would matter.
